Description of the object

ID: 46135 This magnificent villa served as the cherished home of Dr. Abdel Wahab Mooro Pacha, his beloved wife Fatheya, and their two sons Hashem and Hisham since the 1930s. Dr. Mooro Pacha was a pioneering figure in modern surgery in Egypt, renowned for his work at the Mooro Hospital in Cairo, Egypt and as the esteemed Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University. The Mooro family was also known for their illustrious social gatherings in the vibrant community of Zamalek, hosting countless events at the villa. One of the most memorable occasions was a private performance by the legendary Om Kalthoum, who sang in gratitude to Dr. Mooro Pacha after a successful surgery. Dr. Mooro Pacha passed away in 1979, and Mrs. Mooro two decades later, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and a home steeped in history and grandeur. This luxurious villa boasts a built-up area of 800 sqm and sits on a spacious 2,230 sqm plot. Upon entering, a sunny vestibule with garden views and seating greets one on the left. Straight ahead, sits a grand office decorated with old hand-painted stamps designed and implemented in the 1940s. This office also has wood cladding throughout, complete with a fireplace and terrace access. To the right of the entrance, a wide and spacious foyer houses a wooden staircase leading to the first floor. Parallel to the stairs, is a grand reception hall adorned with unique French panels and features two seating areas with access and open views of the green outdoor garden and terrace. Attached to the reception hall is a dining room and a charming winter garden. With its high ceilings and arched panoramic windows, the Moroccan-style winter garden is filled with ample sunlight and a direct view to the outdoor garden. A Moroccan water fountain, custom-designed and surrounded by green wall cladding, adds to the room's elegant ambiance. On the first floor, an open living and dining area awaits and is central to four surrounding bedrooms. The first is ‘his suite’, with beautiful emerald green walls and burgundy curtains, sharing a connected bathroom with ‘her suite’. The bathroom features a hip art-deco style that blends 1940s classic elegance with contemporary flair. ‘Her suite’ is a spacious room with an antique mirror and a private, charming terrace. From its spacious plot to its elegant interiors, every detail of this luxurious property exudes timeless charm and sophistication. Don't miss your chance to own a piece of Egyptian history in the heart of Zamalek.
